Acne-prone skin has a tendency to thicken as a defence mechanism, building up dead cells, sebum and other elements that collect on the skin’s surface and block pores. As a purifying cleanser, Sébium Gel Moussant Actif contains a combination of AHA (alphahydroxy acid) and BHA (betahydroxy acid), known for their complementary keratylotic action, one on the surface, the other deep down. Keratolytic action refers to the ability to smooth skin texture by removing dead skin and stimulating cell renewal.
Thanks to the AHA-BHA pair, traditionally used by doctors for peelings, Sébium Gel Moussant Actif produces great results on acne-prone skin.

Glycolic acid needs a more acidic environment to be effective. Sébium Gel Moussant Actif has therefore been formulated with a slightly acidic pH to increase the AHA complex’s keratolytic efficacy on oily and acne-prone skin. With healthy skin pH sitting between 4.5 - 5.5, this acidic pH respects the skin barrier and doesn't strip away essential oils.
