THE PROJECT
Autistic adults and their families express an urgent need for homes that would suit their specific needs.
Research indicates that adults living with ASD in France lack access to environments in which they are able to develop their social skills and learn how to integrate into working and daily life.
Hélène Médigue, founder of the association Les Maisons de Vincent, proposes the creation of innovative adapted living spaces that she wishes to set up alongside agroecological farms in order to reconcile the vital human (social) needs of autistic adults and the ecological emergency.
Hélène Médigue had already been striving for a solution for several years when she met Jean-Noël Thorel, the founder of NAOS and its brands. Jean-Noël was touched by her story, the beauty of her mission, Hélène's dream of life, and by the uniqueness of people on the autism spectrum and the need to allow them to realize their potential. He decided to donate his childhood family home to the association and NAOS, through the Jean Noël Thorel Foundation, financed the renovation and therapeutic equipment necessary for the opening of this first Vincent House.
The first house has just opened its doors in the town of Mers Les Bains in Picardy, France, and places a great emphasis on the activities of the residents in the local partner farms and on the distribution of farm products, reviving the historical grocery store located on the first floor of this house.
As an independently owned French company, every time you purchase a Bioderma product within Australia, you are helping to provide support for Hélène Médigue's mission and the residents of Vincent's Houses, as well as all future initiatives supported by the Jean Noël Thorel Foundation.
